Safeguarding

Our published information for visitors and ticket holders.

Published version 1. Updated 01/10/2026.

Desi Divas aims to provide a welcoming event where children and adults are treated with dignity. Desi Divas retains responsibility for safeguarding arrangements and for making sure concerns reach an appropriate responsible organiser. Before guests are admitted, the organiser must identify safeguarding cover and brief the organising and door teams on how to obtain private help.

Report a safeguarding concern directly to safeguarding@desidivas.org.uk, a separate restricted contact. Do not include allegations, a child's personal circumstances or other sensitive case information in ticket comments, dietary forms, public posts or general support messages. If you cannot use email, use write to Desi Divas at the organisation correspondence address shown in the Privacy notice, marking your envelope General enquiries, Accessibility, Privacy or Safeguarding as appropriate. Include a safe way for the responsible organiser to reply. Postal correspondence is not suitable for urgent concerns to ask for a private safeguarding conversation without giving case details to an unrelated person.

If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. This website and email address are not emergency services. At the event, ask the organising or door team for a private conversation with the organiser responsible for safeguarding. Staff must pass on a concern promptly and record only necessary facts; they must not investigate an allegation beyond their role. We will listen respectfully and share information only with those who need it to protect someone or meet legal duties, including police or statutory services where needed; absolute confidentiality cannot be promised. Concern records are kept separately from ticketing records with restricted access and a retention decision appropriate to the case.

Bookings containing under-18s must include a paying guest aged 18 or over. Parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising children in their care throughout the event; a ticket purchase does not provide childcare. Tell an organiser promptly if a child or vulnerable person needs help or becomes separated from their group. Do not publish identifying details or photographs of someone involved in a concern. The organiser must review safeguarding cover before each event and after a material incident.
